My son proves me wrong - again
I have started to learn that my 5yr old son has an incredible memory. If a child came up to you and said that an alligator used to be male but now it's a female, you would assume they've got a vivid imagination. Well at least that's what I thought. We were at the zoo in the reptile house (of course) when my son told me this and I proceeded to explain that that doesn't happen to alligators, maybe some frogs and fish but not alligators. Well it appears I was wrong. At a school trip to the zoo he was accurately told that the alligator which was male while in the egg had been turned into a female (with the help of hormones). Just thought it was funny that I'm being corrected by my five year old. I thought I had a least a couple more years before that started to happen.

Re: My son proves me wrong - again
Which proves my theory yet again that one must say nothing in front of small children that one does not want:
1) be repeated to every neighbour and stranger alike
2) remembered and repeated at any moment for the next 5 years or so
3) anything that will make the child smarter than the parent (the incident then being remembered and repeated for the next 5 years or so in the form of "I was smarter than you wasn't I mommy? huh? huh? remember? huh?)

Re: My son proves me wrong - again
Yup, I am absolutely terrified what my child tells others. Good gracious what his preschool teachers must think. For mother's day, the kids were supposed to draw a picture and give clues about their mothers. OMIGOSH! It was so hysterical! I didn't realize how closely my son listens! Really gotta watch what you say! I knew the moment the clue was read...Mommy really doesn't want daddy to get a hummer! Yup that's my child! It wasn't nearly as bad as some of the others tho.

Re: My son proves me wrong - again
My two are only 3 and 5. I can't wait until they're teenagers and complaining about me or their father embarrassing them (oh wait - yes I can!) I need to record all their embarrassing moments for me and I'll let them know when we're even!

Re: My son proves me wrong - again
Well, my kids are definately older, I have HUNDREDS of PICS.. catching them doing stuff... sleeping, drooling and sleeping, sucking thier thumbs and sleeping (good one to use against your turning 14 yr. old daughter) and all the other normal pics you take... I have videos of all kinds of stuff, the stories they tell about why they get home late, family things, b-days.. boring weekends where I have followed everyone around with a camera all weekend.. thats usually during the winter around here though, camping, etc. I am gonna make a short clip of some of this, with pics thrown in .. gonna use it for something some day....

Re: My son proves me wrong - again
Well of course you can always "remind" them of the horrible agonizing hours of labour you struggled valiantly through to bring the little ungrateful hoodlums into this world (really effective if there's perchance a c-section scar to whine about as well) LOL
My neice wins the prize for Most Embarrassment Inflicted on a Parent Award. My sister and her family had just moved into a sort of snooty new neighbourhood and my sister (who embarrasses VERY easily) had a neighbour lady over for tea. Very nice scene...tea...chitchat...my sister was thrilled to be fitting in well....down the stairs comes her sweet 3 year old daughter with a pair of mommy's panties on her head, leg holes every so nicely hooked on her ears. To make matters worse these weren't your regular undies but a rather special pair the hubby had bought my sister for valentine's day.
Needless to say my sister has yet to really forgive her daughter (it's been about 15 years now LOL).
