    new setup

    hey guys i play buying a new tank this friday 4 my ball so he'll be ser 4 life and the tank is like 48 inches long and i was wondering if i would need 1 light on 1 side and another light on the other side?

    Sounds like a big area to heat - this the glass? Are you refering to using the lights as heat sources? How tall/deep is the tank? You'll need the same thermal gradient as always - it CAN be trickier to maintain in a big tank like that - and you'll want to make sure the lights are not making it too arid an environment.

    im usuing a uth for a heat source and lights just for lighting i can keep the temps fine in a glass tank i have no problem i just want to know if i should buy another light for the other side of the tank or should i jsut have 1 side with a lot of light and another side with minimal light

    If the light is solely there for illumination then no, I wouldnt sweat it. Since they are nocturnal you dont want to keep them blasted with light anyway.
