Need Some Help/info Feeder Mouse Had Babies!
bought a mouse to feed my bp, she had 8 babies today! thought I would just keep her and let her raise them up for me but, I dont have a clue as to what their needs are or how to care for them. took them out of the kritter keeper and put her in a 10 gal tank, cut up some paper towels and put them in also, lined the bottom with paper towels, put in small water dish, and some dog food also lettuce and carrot. what else will she need and also turned on the under tank heater and the 25 watt top light to keep them warm. she also has some mulch in their with her that I kept in the kritter keeper. how warm do they need to be? does she need a shelter? what to feed? etc. thanks in advance!!!

Firt thing turn the heat off right away, super warm temps will kill a rodent. I keep all of my breeders at about 65 year around. Also put some aspen bedding in with her and she will make a little nest. Since you only have the one you can pick up some mouse food from your local pet shop, lettuce is nothing but water and have no nutritional valuse but the carrots are good. Make sure your dog food does not have any red dye in it as it is bad for the snake and the mouse cannot excrete it.. Hope this helps,

I wouldn't move a mouse around to different cages right after she has her babies. That's asking for her to stress out and eat all the babies (I've had it happen). I'm not sure that mulch is the best substrate, aspen probably will work better. Just give her nesting materials (paper towels, paper tubes etc) and privacy.

Try and find some Rodent Lab Blocks they have the nessasary protein for a lactating mom. They are probably the best thing you can feed your feeder mice
