    Thumbs up Ai

I know this will seem kind of lame to seem of you, and believe me when I say I am of the same school of thought generally, but seeing someone you went to school with on TV tends to temporarily change your veiws on a certain show.
A guy I went to school with in England is one of the top two on American Idol right now. I never watched that show or followed it until this season at the week of the top 12. I heard a name on the radio that I recognized. Bo Bice. I got curious and called my dad to look it up since I was driving. Sure enough it is the Bo we know. I just have to brag on him. His being on TV has brought a bunch of us back in contact, its really cool. We have been talking abd remebering his performances from back in the day and our times together. Its awsome.
I actaully started watching the show. Though I have to admit, I never really watched the whole thing. I still don't like the show enough to do that. I only watch for Bo. The top 2 are competing tonight and all of these people, the world over are tuning in to watch one of our (meaning LCHS) own. I don't know if anyone else if following, and I don't mean to start a debate on who should win, merits and downfalls of each contestant, and all that mess, I am seriously just bragging on Bo. Our old band and choir teacher from 10 years ago, is bubbling with anticipation, he is still in england so he doesn't get the show until 2 day late. It will kill me not to tell him. Anyway, good luck to them both, at this point they both have it made. And my fellow Bobcat is singing his heart out still.

That's pretty cool! I don't get to watch much tv, and actually I don't even know who the final two are. (I know one now) I've seen bits of it this last week, and I like Bo's voice. I went to school with Dominique Dawes (olympic gymnast), but only saw her about school. I didn't even know her and I was so excited when she competed. That's gotta be really weird seeing him on tv, and I'm glad it's brought you back in touch with friends. That's just wonderful!

Actually when I saw the header I thought this thread was going to be about artificial intelligence, not american idol......

Yeah, I thought about that as I was writing the body, but I forgot to change it before I posted. Thats cool you went to school with Dawes. Isn't it funny that almost everyone knows someone somehow that will become famous one day?

    Re: Ai

Yup, but yours is cooler since you actually knew them. Maybe I'll actually even have to go vote. Tonight is the final night for AI, right?

Have you ever bumped into celebrities? We were on the Maid of the Mist with Terri Garr and bumped into Ben Stein at the Little Rock airport. Only had brief conversations with both and both were extremely nice.

Yeah, I have decided they follow me around. When I lived in London it was a constan occurence. And now, having dated a musician on and off for the past 4 years who works at a major music store, I am constantly meeting people. It is actually really odd. I don't really get star struck any more, but I still feel strange meeting these people.

I am by no means an AI fan, but I did watch an episode last week, and I have to say I like Bo's voice too, he reminds me of Travis Tritt Oh, and on a celebrity side note, Whoopi Goldberg has been serving drinks at a bar my sister frequents, lol.

I went to college with Joe Smith (basketball player). The funny thing is I had no idea who he was at the time and didn't have change for the laundry, but man was he tall! Fear the turtle!

Heh.. I'm worse than all you guys. When I saw the title of the thread I thought it was about artificial insemination. Get my mind out of the gutter eh?

I don't think I really met anyone famous.. almost got my picture in the Guinness world record book holding Baby the world's largest snake though.. darn snake had to shed this week. *sigh*
