Education is Key
Hi all,
Been busy over here at Rusty Reptiles. Hope all is well with everyone, I hope to make more time to be online in the near future.
I thought I would share some new pictures out of my photo album.
This past Tuesday we did a wonderful show for some very smart second graders at an elementary school across the state. It went very well and I was able to take some shots.
If your interested in veiwing them they are located here:

For this show we brought along the Lace monitor, the BT Skink, two leopard geckos, a chilean flame tarantula, a whites tree frog, a painted turtle, the Russian Tortoise, a ball python (of course), the Diamond Carpet Python and (as you can see) the "Zoo" Burmese Python.
All of the aniamls did very well, and the children were delighted to learn, see and feel many of the animals.
It is so important to educate the public and the younger the better.
Enjoy!
Rusty

That's great, Rusty! I took two ball pythons and three crested geckos for a talk to a class full of seventh graders last week myself. It's great to see how the kids light up and get interested in the animals.

Re: Education is Key
Good for you Rusty and Marla. I too think it's great to expose kids to all sorts of new experiences with a variety of creatures when they are young and their minds are more open.
Kinda funny actually, I got my first interest in snakes through a visit just like this to my oldest son's class by a lady with snakes (ball pythons and corn snakes), spiders, etc. Before that I'd just never considered snakes all that interesting. I wasn't ever afraid of them, just not interested at all really.
Keep up the education and the fun these visits bring to kids and adults alike!
