    My ball python is aggressive

i bought my sub adult imported ball python and is too aggressive! i ask the human in pet shop if the snake is WC and told me that is WB. maybe is toooo stressfull? he trying all time to bit me and when am trying to handling he all time is ball. if i put my finger front of his face he trying to bit me put all times faild. am litle faster if am unliky and my snake is WC can i control it and make it gentle in some weeks or months? am waitng litle dayw before trying to feed him. i will try with medium rats. every time i touch my finger outside from rubbermaid(i house my bp in racks) he trying to bit me.
in his body i don't see any animal bite. is looking ike CB

Re: My ball python is aggressive

Just give him a lil time. if he is that stressed you should leave him alone for a week or 2 and then have 10-15 minute handling sessions with him. with frequent handling he should tame down soon. But for future referance most balls(snakes in general) are head shy so i wouldn't put your hand in front of his face whats so ever, especially if he is that nippy and nervous !!

    Hope i helped

Re: My ball python is aggressive

from what i heard, WC balls are really hard to feed. i guy in my town sells WC bps and they also have a problem with ticks and are really aggressive. he wont let anyone handle them before buying and that turned me off and i headed to Petco and got mine. plus most WC bps seem to be subadults or adults.

If you take any adult animal out of the wild and it is bound to be aggressive and troublesome. Most WC bps are usually subadults and adults because all of the imported hatchlings are labeled as CH. If you bought a bp from Petco, it is CH....not CBB. Most people are told by pet stores that hatchling bps are CB(and charge them like they are CB), but in fact the hatchling is CH. I got Thor from a Petco, thought he was CB, and paid $70..... come to find out I got a CH hatchling male that has market value of about $12. That really got me heated.....it is ALWAY better to get ANY snake from a breeder......just remember that for next time

Re: My ball python is aggressive

Just one more reason not to buy any BPs which were WC, especially adults. They are really wild animals, and have been used to living in the wild and having to defend themselves. You can't blame them for being skittish.

Re: My ball python is aggressive

i dont agree with the fact that all WC pythons are aggressive. I have just got my first python and she is a WC.,.....she is not aggressive at all.......there is times she wants to be held and times she dont she is not skiddish of her head at all i can rub her anywhere i want and she dont mind......if she dont want to be held she will let me kno with out strickin at me .......she just tenses up and bumps my hand with the middle of her body......she has never struck at me...i dont kno much about them like i said this is my first one but i can tell you that when she wants to be held she is so sweet.......i have 5 and 7 year old boys and when they hold her she dont even rap around them.......she just lays there...i am really glad i chose this python for my first.....but if anyone has any tips for me ......i would gladly take them
