I'm finally back!!!!!

Ok some of you know that i went to south carolina from friday to well... today and i said that they lived in charleston. well much to my surprise and my family they didn't. they actually lved 28 miles out of charleston in the country. At first i was kind of cool with it but then i got out the car and the first thing to happen wasn't pleasent at all. i was bitten by a masquito....or six lol. So after this i figured ok bugs no problem i can deal with that but then when i went inside the house where we were staying i came to find out a very horrible thing. there........was no cable!!!! lol.Actually i really didn't care i because i had the time of my life. I came to find out that my cousin was actually known in charleston for his motorcycle racing skills and i witnessed them first hand at the dochester race track yesterday. he pretty much hadthe fastest bike and everytbody betted on him even when he went up against a drag bike!!! We also went to alot of places to dance and that was really fun because...well......girls+dancing down south= fun(best way to explain it lol) we went to the aquarium also and that was fun too. now to keep this reptile related i will tell you guys the hi light of my trip. we found a huge(huge doesn't express it enough actually) black kingsnake in my aunt's backyard! now here is where i am sort of dissapointed in my newly found family. My oldest cousin there went and got a butcher knife and was ready to chop off the head so i jumped in front of the snake (which was like 4 feet behind me) and stopped and i didn't do anything like pick up the snakes because it was trying to catch 2 anoles(which we sorta messed up for it) and my mom ran inside and got a disposable camera and i picked it up by the tail to move it farther into the woods(but first my mom who is into snakes as much as i am took a pic of me holding it) and then she scolded my cousin for doing something so stupid. he said that it would kill them and my mom told him how harmless they are and that they wouldn't do anything to us unless they felt threatened. I don't think they beleived us but hey we did are best. Anyway I will try to scan the pic of me and the snake when my mom gets the pic if my scanner works. I had a great time there and i am going again in june! Thanks for listening

Glad you had a good time! It's a shame when people don't know any better than to kill any snake they come across, but hopefully we can have an effect by explaining to one person at a time how they don't hurt humans and do help keep the pest populations down.

Brian - Super Snake Saver!!! Good for you Brian!

Sad that so many folks still don't know about the wildlife they live with so kill snakes, wolves, bald eagles and on and on because they have unrealistic fears of any predatory creature.

Sounds like you had a great time and maybe even spread a good message about local wildlife.

yeah it was really fun and i can't wait to go back in june!!! this time for 2 weeks! but yeah the snake was actually quite docile but i still held it by the tail because i didn't want to get bit just in case it was afraid or irritated(probably was already) but yeah they said they had alot of garter snakes and kingsnakes down there. and i saw a whole lot of anoles i even let my lil bro hold one but he was scared out of his mind and put it down. oh yeah i meant to ask you guys have you ever heard of a chicken snake. i busted out into laughter when my cousin meantioned this but he was serious so i have to know is their such a thing? thanks for listening

ok i found out wut a chicken snake was(a yellow rat snake) but not in the best way
