Retained Scale???

To you experienced people out there, ever seen something like this?



I don't remember seeing a retained scale at that place on her head last time she shed, but I could be wrong. Any ideas on what that could be? She rearrages her cage about every 3 or 4 days (moving around hides, rocks, etc) so I was thinking it might have been just some surface damage. Any ideas?

Hm.. well you didn't describe it very much, but it could just be that she scraped the very outer layer of skin off of the scale. I notice this on burmese pythons if their scales get roughed up.. the scale looks lighter in color than the non-damaged ones. I wouldn't worry too much about it.. just keep an eye on it.

Hm.. the light in the pic isn't great, so it's hard to see. I'd say it doesn't look bad, and don't worry about it, but I don't know for sure. Hopefully someone else will come by.
