just a few questions
hey,
im new here and i am looking to buy bp in late june, but first i have to find out alot about them. I already own a cornsnake and so how big in comparison would the viv i need be? Also are they similar in feeding(7-10 days) and shedding (1-2 months)??
Also is there anything i should look out for if im buying one privately??

Re: just a few questions
hey, welcome to the site.
I keep my ball pythons in 33'' x 17'' x 6'' rubbermaid tubs. Something of similar base size will do well for adults. Younger bps can be kept in smaller enclosure to reduce stress if desired, but I just put a few more hides in the bigger enclosure and it seems to work just fine. I feed once a week. Shedding just depends on the bp and how fast it is growing. Right now I see a shed about once every 1.5 months. Hope that helps
also, look for a bp breeder if you can and try to get a Captive bred animal. If you can not find a CB bp, then get a captive hatched. Try to avoid purchasing something that is wild caught....just bunches of trouble.

Re: just a few questions
welcome max, there are some good caresheets here on this forum, check them out. balls do well feed weekly and kept warm 90-94 warm side/ 80-82 cool side. mine poop weekly sometimes bi-weekly and shed every 4-6 weeks.
getting the proper setup up and running before you buy will help you and your snake alot. i don't have any knowledge about breeders in the uk. buying from a private breeder vs a pet store or salesman is also a good way to get a healthy problem free snake.

Re: just a few questions
we feed our little guy once a week and he sheds about every 4-6 weeks, and right now he is only 2.5 feet so he is in a 20 gallon long tank.
