    is he still hungry????

i just feed moe a mouse, the pet store i go to does not have live rats.... the last 2 feeding times after moe has eaten, he darts about the cage clearly looking for something. is this the best sign he is still hungry?

maybe....maybe not. It is hard to judge what a bps intentions are sometimes. Next feeding offer him a second mouse and see. If he take it...then he was still hungry. If he does not....the he must not be hungry.

once he eats the first mouse and begins moving around again. Go ahead and put the second mouse in.

the right time to feed the second is definately one of those things that gets very easy the more you watch snakes. Like jason said, he will start looking for more once the mouse is the majority of the way down then it is just the same procedure all over again.

    Re: is he still hungry????

do you guys think 2 adult mice once a week is good for the whole life of a BP. and will they grow to normal size on that diet or is it better feed large rats and only feed once every 3 weeks??

    Re: is he still hungry????

2-3 mice a week will be just fine for the entire life of the bp. They will grow just fine and you will most likely have a more consistant feeder than if you went with the largest possible meal each time.
