I was mapping out some of my matings for next season.

I know that Gravel and Yellowbelly are supposed to be nearly impossible to distinguish from each other, however, if you compare clutch mates--that is a different story.

I am only planning on breeding Het Gravel males next season. I have two males Pastel/Lesser/Het for Gravel or Yellow Belly.
I was looking at them, and c'mon: 'Indistinguishable?'.
Maybe in more complicated combos it gets obscured, but even with Pastel and Lesser in the mix it is pretty obvious to my eyes now:

Ignore everything else and look at the difference in yellow and black pigment saturation between the two.
Yellow Belly has more yellow. Gravel has more black. Simple.

Right now I'm hatching out my Clutch #9 which was a cross between a Special/Het Monsoon x Mojave/Ghost.
I can't afford to retain every hatchling that is 50% Het Monsoon this season...so I was hoping to find some sort of marker to help me ID.
Here are the first three hatchlings:

Statistically: One of these should be Het Monsoon.

The Crystal ball python (Mojave/Special-the whitish one-on the left) is pretty much impossible to examine in detail until it gets larger and the markings darken.

The Special ball python on the bottom has a lot of orange spreading up the sides...this is my first time working with the Special Gene...I don't see anything too unusual about this one...but I haven't examined very many in-person.

The Mojave ball python (in the center) is obviously wrong. It has a yellow hue, an overall light brown saturation, and a confused patterning. Looks like a 'winner' to me.

I've been in training for my new job this week. I would label the environment: abrasive (at best). I'm pretty worn down and it is only Wednesday.

I checked my incubator when I got home today and my clutch #10 is hatching.

This year I had mated 1 Male (Super Blade/Het Clown/Het Lavender Albino) to 16 Females. He produced one clutch (#10).
The lone female was a small Leopard/Het Clown that laid 4 eggs.

If this first hatchling turns out to be a Leopard/Blade/Clown then it will give me the boost I need to make it to the weekend.

Me too (rooting for you). New jobs are always a headache, but that it's already "abrasive" is not the best start...I sure hope there's much improvement.
