Asking for a quick easy signature to support the preservation of natural wild lands-
Hey all, I'm a member of ASP (Advocates for Snake Preservation) & I'm sharing this email that I just received since I hope you'll want to know about this & to support it too. This will help more than just snakes, of course, & it just makes sense. A quick easy signature takes only a minute, & if you want to comment further, there's instructions for that as well. Hey y’all,
A new 520-mile gas pipeline could tear through some of the most important riparian areas in the Southwest: the Muleshoe Ranch Preserve and Cooperative Management Area and the Middle and Lower San Pedro River Valley.
This isn’t a minor detour. The proposed route runs along I-10 almost the whole way, but veers off to cut through fragile grasslands and riparian canyons that are home to 17 Threatened and Endangered species and 113 Species of Greatest Conservation Need.
There’s no good reason for it. The company could just keep following I-10, a corridor already carved up by highways and pipelines. Instead, they’re choosing to bisect the second largest unfragmented landscape in the Southwest.
We’re asking FERC to:
Reroute the pipeline to avoid the Muleshoe Ranch Preserve and Cooperative Management Area and the Middle and Lower San Pedro River Valley.
Fully study the damage to water, wildlife, and vegetation if they don’t.
Tell FERC: protect Muleshoe and the San Pedro. The more voices, the harder we are to ignore. |
