    Substrate options

I’ve been using Reptichip for the last few years, but I’m thinking of switching to cypress mulch. I was going to buy it at Home Depot. Does anyone else use cypress mulch, or what other substrate do you all recommend?

    Re: Substrate options

I keep a Children's python and I use repti-carpet. It's cheaper and not as messy as loose substrate. Does nothing for my humidity though, but Childrens are more humidity tolerant (20 - 80%) than most snakes.

I've used cypress mulch for my BRB's and it's great. Don't get it at Home Depot though as it's not 100% cypress, it's "cypress blend" and the other woods can include pine and black walnut. I called the manufacturer and asked.

Thanks for the tip. Where’d you find the 100% cypress mulch?
