Scale rot or scab?
Hello! This is my first post on the forum, apologies for any mistakes. I would like opinions as to if this mark on my BP is the beginning of scale rot or a scab? any other opinions are welcome, thank y'all for the help!
A few weeks ago he did get pinched between a mounted branch and the glass for a few seconds, but this if this is the result of that is has just now appeared.
Pics are from May 21 and May 26th (after cleaning the area with a damp paper towel)
Tank is kept at 50-60% humidity, 75-80⁰F (ambient), and last shed was in April. I have moved him to a small tote with new bedding for the time being.

Re: Scale rot or scab?
Welcome!
Scale rot usually spreads outward and there is a lot of discoloration of scales in the area.
That looks like a minor injury.
Paper towels as substrate until you don't see red anymore-and he should be fine.
Edit: You can also get into trouble with 75F for ambient as the snake grows and has less room for a gradient...80F is ideal...

Re: Scale rot or scab?
It wouldn't hurt to treat the spot with some diluted betadine (1:10) or Vetericyn.

Agree w/ both posts above...looks like minor injury, & I'd apply a topical (pref. Vetericyn, or diluted Betadine) to help prevent infection. Should apply as soon as possible though, after an injury, as it starts to heal up right away so the medication doesn't "get in there" to do as much if you wait until it has scabbed over.
