    Gravid, ovulating or just fat?

First time breeder, i started pairing in late February (wasn’t planning on pairing this late but my girl was hugging the cool side for a couple weeks so i thought hell why not), shortly after she started bowl wrapping occasionally but i never noticed any kind of “build.” Fast forward to a couple weeks ago she went into shed (5/18) & afterwards she looked a lot darker especially around her head/neck (pos pre-ovy glow?), and was still mostly staying around the cool side but would sit on the hot spot for a bit every now and then.
Now she’s constantly moving back and forth between the warm & cool side occasionally coiling on the hot spot, her colors are the same (darker than normal) and she’s starting to look a bit thick but i can’t tell if that’s just because we’ve recently upped her meals from smalls to meds (she’s been feeding normally throughout this entire time). I’ve also caught her laying belly-up a couple times, & the day before yesterday she was coiled almost completely inverted with her neck twisted in an odd position. What do you guys think?

    2nd or 3rd time i caught her bowl wrapping (4/6) : https://imgur.com/a/OlZLFE5

Today (on the hot spot) : https://imgur.com/a/h3C6epC

Re: Gravid, ovulating or just fat?

    Greetings,

She does not look fat. A photo of the full length of the snake would be more helpful in guessing...and without palpating: guessing is exactly what we would be doing.
+If she is not 3rd winter or older-even with successful breeding-ovulation would not be an indicator of gravidity. I see a lot of new breeders get discouraged when their immature females do not lay eggs...

There is no sense of scale in the photos, but that water bowl looks super small for a ball python that size (imo). My breeder females that are ovulating/gravid feel a lot more comfortable floating around in the water...they will usually leave the water a week or two before they lay eggs. One breeder told me that they didn't want the eggs to get laid in the water. I've heard stories, but I have never *ever* seen one of my ball python lay eggs in the water...
