Animal Plastics - Additional LED Lighting

Has anyone added additional LED lighting outside of the rear strip which is common in AP setups? Both my enclosures have the added ledge which blocks a lot of the lighting and makes it hard to view the enclosure. Heck, with my IMG being so dark, half the time I have no idea where he is Was thinking about adding a front strip of LEDs.

I did not know the factory lighting was mounted in the back. That's not a good way to provide light (since the light needs to bounce off the things you're looking at, not backlight them).

I use cheap undercabinet dimmable 12vdc LED strips (maybe 12" long?) I bought off Amazon like 15 years ago, and mount them just behind the top of the door surround. Doesn't take much light, and if they're dimmable you can dial them in.

This makes so much sense. Not being familiar with the AP set up, I thought for a moment that the OP must have put the top on backwards, but I just watched an assembly video and the lights are, indeed, mounted on the opposite side of the window tracks. Someone should drop a note in AP's suggestion box.
