    13 Year Old Royal

This girl is a "normal" Royal python.

She feeds on her schedule, not mine. I have no doubt this snake will be here for many more years. I prefer the normal color and pattern to all else. I feel the same about that with all the species I have.

Hunter at 13 years old. (July 28)

This snake is bomb proof. She is mellow and has never tried to bite since day one.

She was a gift for my son which I was strongly against even more than my wife was.

She started my interest in the hobby and she was the gateway animal to the rest of the animals here. We've had a retic come and go (placed in good hands) and a coastal carpet mix that passed unexpectedly.

As boring as Royals can be, this girl has been rock solid as a pet. I am the main care taker and have been for a long time but my son still loves her. Snakes are not an animal to be taken lightly because they are long lived. Have a plan for the long haul!

Salute to Hunter our 13 year old Royal.

Happy belated 13th birthday good girl!

Looking good! Yeah that critter will be around for some time. My boy just turned 15yrs and shows zero signs of slowing down at all

    Nice!

Of course she is nowhere close to what I would consider a 'normal' pattern or color at all...

What a beautiful girl, she looks so healthy and well cared for. Her scales are so shiny and I can even see a bit of an iridescent sheen on the dark parts of her pattern. It also looks like she's getting some great climbing enrichment! Wonderful that she got you into the hobby and I hope she'll be around for many more years.

My oldest is a 24 year old normal male. He's huge and sweet tempered. Still eating and doing great. The only thing we've been monitoring is a bump on his side. They're still gorgeous little guys.
As much as I do not want to produce normals when breeding, I do love my normal boy the most.

Love the color and reduced pattern on your girl as well. She just looks like a sweet tempered girl in these photos too. =)

A 24 year old is incredible!

Nice job with bringing that one up.

Hopefully the bump is nothing more than a simple imperfection and nothing malignant.

I imagine that snake has some size to it at 24.

He's larger than all my girls, hahah. I keep him lean and he still weights in around 2400g. About 5ft long.

I've been keeping an eye on things and so far it seems pretty stable. It hasn't changed at all so we're just playing it by ear for the moment.

Glad to see she's doing well! She looks great! I think you and I got into this hobby around the same time. Good to see you're still around here.

    I think so.

I started off by getting my son that royal way back then.

    I believe May of 2012.

I never expected to get involved since both my wife and I were adamant about NOT have a snake here.

Funny how that ended up LOL!

Good to see you here as well.
