    5 months is a fairly long fast. Feeding small rats may keep him from fasting in the future, but it won't break this fast. To do that I suggest you follow Boger's suggestions above. If that doesn't work in the next month or so, I'd take him to a vet. I would also start weighing him every couple weeks to make sure he's not loosing too much weight. I use this scale and it works great. You also may want to preserve his feces in case the vet needs them for testing.
