Re: Ikea stocks snake enrichment now
After putting the rack together it occurred to me that considering how cheap it is it's probably made of pine, though the Ikea site doesn't say for sure. The larger rack says it's made of beech.
I'm not sure whether a pine one could be made safe for reptiles.

I don't think solid pine wood like this presents much of a problem for snakes- especially since I assume this is too large to be inside the enclosure- so with air circulation, it's really not an issue- not like pine shavings that would outgas every which way. If you're worried about it, you could coat it with polyurethane or other pet-safe waterproofing coating. I think you found some great ideas, actually-
