New spot?

Good afternoon!
My (2 year old) pied just shed last night, and now there’s a small white dot in the center of his head.
This wasn’t there until this morning, and though the shedding was patchy/incomplete I found the head and there’s no gaps where a piece may have stayed stuck to him.
He doesn’t seem to be in any pain, his behavior hasn’t changed and he’s still just as active as always. But still, there’s a bright white spot in the center of his head.
Should I be worried about this? Is this a pied thing, where the splotches of color/white change as they age? Or is he just a little odd.

TLDR: pied BP shed, now he’s got a white dot on his head. I’ll try to attach a photo in a reply

One of 2 things- & I can't say which without seeing a close-up of what you're asking about:
Either one or a few scales faded in pigment, or he's rubbed his head & lost one or a few scales, & what you're seeing is his pinkish-white skin where the scales used to be (& this will be a scar).

I've attached a photo in a reply to the original post (the best I could get). It seems to be pure white, but I'm honestly not sure at this point. In either case, would it be a vet concern or simply keeping an eye on it?

Looks to me like he "lost" (scraped off) a scale- you should be able to tell better in person- looking at the surface from the side for a slight depression where the scale was.

Not a vet concern- it doesn't appear to be inflamed (red, infected) but you could, if you want & with an abundance of caution, dab on a little diluted Betadine, OR Vetericyn ointment for reptiles. Or, a tiny amount of Neosporin ointment (only the version without pain relief). But probably not needed.

Well, certainly not great but glad to know it's not dangerous. I'll try to look the next time I have him out for any sort of dent, thank you for your input

Well, more to the point, you want to know if he's been scraping his head on something in his enclosure. As in preventing further damage.

Usually, pieds get the opposite and develop dark spots. I wouldn't be surprised if sometimes white spots happen.

I agree with everything already suggested though. If anything looks funny, then I'd worry. But this one little spot doesn't look too bad.

For your further consideration, I'll just mention that is the same spot my bp would injure when trying to push his way out of his enclosure. So, it could be a pushing injury. If it is, you'll want to look for ways to make your bp more comfortable in his enclosure.
