Synopsis of Senate Bill 134
Senate Bill 134 (SB134) amends the Municipal Code (Chapter 3 NMSA 1978) to prohibit the use of exotic animals in traveling performances with the exception of rodeos, animal rehabilitation programs, animal shelter programs, and accredited animal education or conservation programs.
The exception for rodeos just kills me. I've never been to a rodeo, but from what I've seen on T.V., I can't imagine they're exemplars of humane animal treatment.
