    I'd be curious to see published comments on this connection. Nest building and maternal incubation are hard wired adaptive traits and are not learned. Specific adaptive traits are a very different thing than generalized problem solving, self control, and the ability to learn novel behaviors from conspecifics and through environmental manipulation.
