AP basking shelves. Yay or nay?
I'm close to being able to put down an order for enclosure upgrades, but I'm on the fence on if I want to add the built-in basking shelves from the extra options. They look rather slippery so I'm not sure if it would just be better to go with the cork bark platform plan I've done before.

I agree- too slippery -without modifications, anyway.

I have 1 snake who loves his shelf, another not so much..... He also like to curl up in the log in the lower left of the picture

I don't put anything into my enclosure that I can't take out. It makes it easier to clean. It also makes it more versatile. Without anything affixed to the structure, I have the freedom to arrange and rearrange as I please. With a fixed shelf, if your pet doesn't use it, you're still stuck with it.

On that AP Cage, the shelf supports are screwed into the back wall and the shelf "snaps?" into the supports, I can pop the shelf out and undo the support bars if I wanted, it would leave small holes in the back wall where the screws go thru, but I wouldn't consider it a fixed shelf.
