but as far as indoor/outdoor carpeting, once it's dry, it's holds no humidity the way the mulch-type substrates do- it's not that thick. That's not a deal-breaker for me for 2 reasons: Most of my snakes do not need high humidity (& none are BPs), but for those that need more humidity or just enjoy it, I prefer to use humid hides rather than having all the substrate being damp. I live in a humid area anyway.
This is why it's good to discuss the various options here- the same things don't work best for everyone, in every location, or in every situation.
