Happy medium between a tub and a PVC enclosure?

Specialty Enclosure Designs makes a kit to convert a tub into a sliding door front opening enclosure.

That does seem to fit the bill. I found a video where someone put one of these together. Looks like you need to be pretty handy, though, and have access to tools.
