Totally. But with Roxanne it was as ferocious as a flower. Still not sure if she was blinded a little bit or my tattoo was so mesmerizing? Definitely washed and disinfected up to my elbows well before I went in there so I don’t think it was a rodent smell. And as a reptile goes she’s as kind, derpy and maybe a little more ‘special’ than most. There was nothing malicious about the bite if you could it call that. I think she’s coming to total terms that I am not swallowable – lol
I am most happy I did not respond or react at all. Held her for two more minutes and put her back.
I hope she learns this lesson soon because I do not want to wake up with her with five toes in her mouth and a mutual look of dumbfoundment a few years down the road

With no offense whatever meant to your tattoo, I doubt that was the reason, since most BPs (& many other snakes) just aren't that visually-oriented. This whole episode sounds pretty cute, & I think it was just her day to make a derpy mistake. I don't think your toes are in any danger...now or ever.

To put this in human terms, have you ever opened your mouth & said something you regretted, then wished you'd stuck your foot in to stop it, but it was too late? This is the snake equivalent- she instinctively reacted to some cues ("warm & wiggling") before realizing that you weren't quite what she was hoping for. Too bad they can't blush, that would have been even better. I think she'll get better at recognizing what's edible.
