Welcome Lily! What a cutie![]()
If you run into difficulties feeding I'd recommend reaching out to the breeder and replicating whatever techniques they used to feed her. I have four GTPs and they all have different preferences come feeding time lol.
One is constantly going on and off feed (she was WC). If she sees me that's pretty much all she needs to go on yet another hunger strike
One politely comes down from his perch and takes it immediately and accurately from tongs
The other two will eat if I simply leave it anywhere in the cage.
I use the shallow plastic dishes I think are meant more for feeding lizards [ https://www.snakemuseum.com/1933-thi...-exo-terra.jpg ]. I like that they are easily removable for washing. You might try placing the mouse on the ground level before using a platform; in general green tree pythons hunt from the trees and will likely feel more secure hunting when they have the height advantage. I warm my prey to 100F drop it in the cage and peace out. I also feed just after the sun goes down (usually the time they are most active). Most GTPs are pretty easy/consistent eaters so *fingers crossed* you won't have any issues![]()
