For the humidity, I'm not sure if Reptibark is the same as Forest Floor cypress mulch in the sense that it is super damp when it comes out of the bag, but if so, what I've found helps is spreading it out in another container or a large plastic bag and letting it air dry for a few days before putting it into the enclosure.
So sorry I missed your message! He is really gentle. Super sweet and curious. I thought all hatchlings looked pretty skinny? He was 3 months old in the op. Glad you think he looks good! I've been buying Critter Comforts since it comes dry and they've been in stock again. I have been meaning to make a humid hide for him too.
Genjo has gotten bigger and hit 1000 grams.
I started adding some more fake plants and upgraded his log hide to a bigger one. I ordered a water bowl and accidentally gave him a swimming pool. I thought, heck he might like it, but he never gets in it. I might look for some new hides soon. I think he's outgrowing the ones he has.

Such a pretty banana! I know it's not scientific but from everything I hear bananas just seem to have very sweet personalities. I've never heard of a bad/mean banana lol

It seems Genjo has hit the 1000 gram wall. He's refused food for 3 weeks now when he usually doesn't miss a meal. Temps and humidity are good. I'm trying not to worry too much about it.
I have more weigh-ins, but only put his every 100 gram-ish gain.
8/28/20 - 117g (3 months old)
11/15/20- 209g
1/14/21 - 307g

4/11/21 - 502.8g
6/6/21 - 637g
7/18/21-752g
8/14/21 - 846g
9/21/21 - 905g
11/23/21-997g
1/12/22 - 1080.1g
3 weeks refusal and a poo later
2/10/22 - 1029g

What a handsome BP- Hopefully he won't stress you out for too long.

Re: Sanzo
Wow! What a great progressive history of the life of Sanzo . I feel like I know him. Thanks. Keep doing what you’re doing with him and he’ll be fine. Just curious as to how the heating application you installed works in a t10 ? Do you think if you subdued the lighting more that might help with his feeding response. I know the 1000 gm wall phenomenon is also a factor. Thanks for introducing him to all of us.

Why thank you. I'm using a RHP. The lighting in his terrarium are LEDS that I use when I clean the cage or take him out. I don't turn them on when feeding him. Thanks for the suggestion!

He ate! 3 week strike over. Still didn't eat like normal. I had to leave the rat in the tank overnight but it was gone in the morning.

He had a nice shed and I snapped a couple pics while deep cleaning his terrarium. I only had enough substrate to cover one side of the tank, so the other half is paper towel until I get more. It looks funny but is nice and clean. He was active and ready to explore after being a grumpy unmoving rock for so long while in shed.

He seems grumpy lately. I never catch him roaming anymore and he immediately goes back to hiding whenever I disturb him to spot check, and he's eating on and off.
