    Head shape

My piebald BP seems to have an odd, to me, head shape. She's 4 months old, eats well, sheds well, and seems normal...

But it seems like she has a very narrow nose and her eyes seem pretty prominent and protrude more than other BP I've seen. Instead of a wedge shaped head I feel like she has the back end of her skull and then a nose and jaw stuck onto it.

Since she seems to do all the things she should, I don't know that this matters...but seen this before? Will it change as she grows? Should I worry about anything?

It seems like over the years there has been more and more variation in head shape. While I agree, yours does have a bit of a pointy mouth shape, it shouldn't cause and harm and isn't super uncommon. The eyes are probably normal but seem different because of the mouth shape making them stick out a bit more. Some things are more common in certain morphs, like BELs having overly large eyes. As far as I'm aware, Pied aren't particularly prone to anything like this.

    Re: Head shape

I have noticed several things through the last several years. Some animals have really wide big blocky heads and some have smaller narrow heads. I do have one animal that has rather odd eyes they seem to protrude more then any other animals I have. Also noticed that sometimes the patterns on the different morphs make the mouth/nose look odd/duckbilled. My spotnose leopard clown has so much white on the sides of his mouth that it really makes it look duckbilled but it's just an optical illusion.

Ps I think she's a fine looking snake

I was waiting for others to chime in on this- while I agree that the snake above has a slight but noticeably different face-shape, I see nothing un-attractive about it, & it's obviously just a minor genetic difference- hey, we don't all have the same nose either? When I had BPs (years back), one of my males had a slightly different face shape too, similar to the one above. With all the BPs being bred these days, it's a wonder there aren't more differences (other than just the colors & patterns). I do also understand the concern, wanting to make sure this isn't associated with any real & known defect in the future.

Thanks folks! She's still eating like a champion so I just assume all is well.
