Re: Poll without a poll
I have 4 snakes... a ball python, a Mexican Black Kingsnake, a boa imperator, and a woman python. Of the ones I have, the boa I like the best... because she is a give, inquisitive, and looks beautiful (though, they all really look beautiful). The woma will probably eventually become my best, however, due to her unique bahaviors.
The boa is the best of the ones I have. But, I think my dream snake would be a boelen's python, which I could never get die to the price and care requirements. I'd also love to get an Eastern indigo, but you needs permits to get one of those. But... my dream snake that IS in the realm of me getting, and I have been trying to get for the last few years, is a Boiga melanota mangrove snake. They're beautiful, with my favorite colors (black and yellow) and a very interesting species.
Pic is of a boiga melanoma. Not mine... taken off an internet search.
0.1 Mexican Black Kingsnake (Tynee)
0.1 BEL Ball (Luna)
0.1 Sunglow Boa (Pippi Longsnake)
0.1 Woma Python (Uma)
WANT LIST

- Russian Rat Snake
- Eastern Indigo

That's a tough question. I'd like to put SD reticulated pythons at the top, but because mine are not mature yet and I know I have a good chance of some serious challenges ahead of me once adult hormones kick in, that makes me wonder if my feelings will change. Even at max size, mine are a small enough locale that it's still well within my means to deal with, but even a tiny noodle in a bad mood can be a pain when they want to be.
Of the species I've kept that I've actually gotten to experience all age ranges with, green tree pythons would be my top choice personally. Not something I would recommend to a beginner, especially in a dry climate though. It can be a heck of a chore to keep humidity right, and hatchlings are sooo fragile.

Re: Poll without a poll
My favorite snake is Chomper, my caramel coastal carpet python.
My favorite species of snakes is currently boas. They recently took over the number one spot from my carpet pythons late one night last week. I realized that if I had to grab any snake at any time of day to handle it would be a boa. They’re less flighty than my pythons and will often stay in one place for a longer time. My boas never miss a meal but a few of my carpets will take winter food breaks. Their both equally hardy and beautiful. The pythons are better display animals. It’s a very close call but the boas are my top pick.
3.0 Carpet Pythons, 1.1 Bullsnakes
1.0 Olive Python 1.0 Scrub Python,
1.0 BI, 0.1 BCO

It is so hard to pick just one. Each are special in their own way and I have each because they are different from one another. If I was forced I guess my ETB would be the one. She is just beautiful and a pleasure to have. She displays wonderfully and is fairly active at night. The only way she could be any better is if she was a Amazon Basin. Maybe one day I will have one but they are super expensive.
