Ball python head scales turning white

First post here! I recently noticed some kinda white scales on my ball python head and I wonder if you've seen something like this before?

Well, I haven't. Usually it's a matter of an injury that leaves a light-colored scar, but that doesn't appear to be any sort of scar on your snake- the scales appear to be normal. Sorry, I hope someone else may have seen this before.

Maybe it's changing colors a bit and getting some white scales?

I seem to recall someone posting about a similar situation but it's been a long time- just like yours, the scales seemed to fade & "lost color". Obviously nothing you can do about it.
I wonder if has anything to do with something the feeders ate or were exposed to? Or some nutritional deficiency in your snake?

He's been eating the same frozen thawed rats from the pet store close by since I got him. The maximum he went without eating was 2 weeks. Maybe because he's a pied, he's getting some white scales there. He used to have a black dot on his body and with time became 3 black dots like it's spreading. I'm glad it seems to be purely cosmetic and I can jokingly say he's graying out with age. xD

I think it's most likely genetic (related to being pied), just like the "bananas" get freckles. As far as turning white as he ages, I guess you could also say he's a bald python...?

Not like anyone other than you will really notice anyway. He's unique, & that's a good thing, IMO. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, that's for sure.

Hahaha, bald python, that's awesome! So glad that it doesn't look like a fungus or scale rot. I kinda like the unique look!
