Re: Adelita - 2019 Hypo Sonoran
Changed Adelita's hides up during her last cage cleaning. This seems to be her new favorite cryptic basking position.
Got the results in from RAL/VetDNA today for all the snakes' boid panels. Very happy to report that there's no arenavirus, nidovirus, or paramyxovirus in this house. I'll continue with annual screenings for the foreseeable future to make sure there aren't any dormant cases, but this is a great start!

That's a great photo.
Perfect coloring to blend with the surroundings.

Re: Adelita - 2019 Hypo Sonoran
Adelita continues to be more iridescent than ever and generally seems quite healthy as she goes through her summer growth spurt. I think switching up her diet to include more non-rodent prey has done her some good!

Re: Adelita - 2019 Hypo Sonoran
Adelita's looking great ahead of winter turn-down and is sweet as ever. She's ~390g and 3'4" now. The mixed diet of mice, rat pups, quail, and the MegaBlend Reptilinks seems to be doing her good. At the rate she's growing, she may be ready for small rats next year.
It's hard to see in the photos, but she actually has a lot of coral pinks and terracotta oranges to her now. Her adult colors seem to be coming in at last!

She looks great!
Hard to capture a lot of the nuance on Boa coloration on camera. Feliz has a lot of pink/peach hues but they don't show well on camera.

Re: Adelita - 2019 Hypo Sonoran
One of the local stores had nice faux ferns on sale. Finally got Adelita some greenery!

She really "disappears" on that (corkbark?). Ferns are a nice touch.

Re: Adelita - 2019 Hypo Sonoran
Somebody loooved her misting session tonight!
Normally I don't spray my snakes directly, but she loved the fine mist falling over her and practically chased the mister as I pulled it away, haha. Adelita is definitely one of those snakes that appreciates very fresh water.
