The big window on the front might cause enough heat exchange to make a difference, and I'd imagine there are some dead spots where the air doesn't move much, especially when it's fully loaded with clutch tubs.

I wouldn't add water right now and risk messing things up as they come to the correct temp, but if you want to next year, you can just stack some water bottles on one of the lower shelves if you have the extra space.

Based on the pictures, I'd still give them some more time before cutting because they don't look like they are hardening up to the point the hatchlings would have trouble pipping. If they start dimpling pretty bad and getting tough, you might consider it.
