It really depends on the line and what else is in there. Your average pastel with no other morphs usually fades significantly. Some lines retain some of the yellows on the lower half fairly well. Having something in the fire complex, yellow belly complex, enchi or desert ghost (off the top of my head) will help retain the color some, there are probably many others.
I have an enchi pastel asphalt/or/yb that is a young adult and just as bright as the day I brought her home if not more.
