2020 Plains Garter Litters

Just a little update. The holdback I took photos of at the beginning of the thread still refuses to eat anything but earthworms. Last feeding, it took a half of a mouse pink, but I think it just missed the strike. I've only lost one since the first few failure to thrives, and it was totally out of the blue since they're 4+ months old now. I'm quite glad they're eating halves now instead of chunks. Easier to give everyone organ meat, and it saves a tooon of time vs waiting for them to find every little chunk. Except for when they go into shed, only the one holdback is refusing rodents now. My two 1:5 ASF colonies just couldn't keep up with the garters, so I had to start ordering pinks instead and they take the mice a lot more reliably.

Babies are going through another shed cycle, caught this one during a tub cleaning day between feeds.



And some of Summer's babies, they're starting to catch up in size now that they aren't so picky.
