Husbandry improvements - roaming

My ball has started roaming a lot. its currently in a single 60 qt sterilite tub. i was trying to give it floor space with two large hides from LLLReptile. No rack. Do i need a bigger enclosure? It did eat 2 weeks ago while going through its shed process and had a good shed. Haven't eaten since.

hide dimensions: 13.25 x 9 x 3.25
ball python 4ft
hot side: 88-90
cool side: 77-80
humidity: 60%
I've checked multiple times.

The only time it settles down is when I put it in the old 28 qt tub but it doesn't have enough floor space and can only fit one hide & water dish.
If clutter is needed, are there any recommendations that will work with this kind of tub?

IME roaming is a good thing maybe I'm wrong but sitting in a hide all day and night to me is not normal, and neither is roaming all day and night. Hiding during the day and roaming at night means a healthy snake.

What are the dimensions of the tub that your BP is roaming in? The tub in the photo looks too small for a snake that size.

If you recently moved your snake to a new enclosure it's normal for them to spend the first week or two roaming a lot in their enclosure at night because they are in an unfamiliar environment and want to explore it thoroughly, or maybe find their old home. After the adjustment period passes the snake should calm down. Roaming itself as a behaviour is fine as long as it only happens at night and the snake is not rubbing its head or nose and hurting itself trying to escape.

You can try adding more clutter such as fake foliage from pet stores or dollar stores, rocks, toilet paper tubes, and fake branches (or real ones, as long as they are hard wood and disinfected by baking at 200F for at least an hour) to provide enrichment for your BP.

the current dimensions are:
34 5/8" x 18 3/4" x 7"

its been in this one for a while now and recently started roaming

I was looking to move it into a 39 3/4" x 21 1/2" x 17 7/8" tub if I don't end up going back to a tank.
