    The only thing I can think of that would explain it from a breeding standpoint is that the female held onto sperm and started building late on. I’ve never heard of that timing happening before, but I do know that they can hold sperm for quite some time. That would explain the disinterest, sudden peak of interest, and then assuming the build didn’t take, disinterest again.

    Outside of that, could be just a weird snake lol. I’ve had smaller and younger females go through periods of disinterest for no apparent reason before. Keep in mind too that breeding season to us might is a specific time of year, but to the snake it’s based on environmental changes, so if it came from a different breeding rotation or even if something like heating has changed that can influence them to be odd.
