    Boa question

My boa is 2 1/2 months old. Over 2ft and 115 grams.

He is being fed every 7 days. Mouse is about 7-9 grams. I figured with feeding every 7 days it was probably a good idea not to feed him a bigger meal. Hince the slower digesting process.

My boy seems to go ghost for about 72 hours or more after feeding.

He has proper husbandry. With a heat pad that he uses. At the proper temps.

My question is that apex has seemed a little more sluggish lately. Is this a result of not streching him out to a 10 day feeding schedule?

If I had to guess, he's starting a shed cycle.

Yup, sounds like a shed cycle to me, too. I'd personally be feeding him the same size meal you currently are feeding every 10-14 days, but you wouldn't see any difference in behavior like that doing 7 days vs 10-14. I just feel boas have better muscle tone on 10-14 days vs 7 days, but they should grow at similar rates on either schedule...it's the second year the growth spurts start. Just be sure to move to 14 days either when he turns a year, or when he's on weaned rats.
