Understand that the only thing that normally picks up a snake in nature is a predator about to EAT them...it's normal for a snake to fear us until they learn they're safe.

It's actually best not to handle a new snake until it has fed easily for you about 3 times at normal intervals, as a fearful snake may refuse to eat, & that's truly no fun to deal with...it also may harm their health.
Gold! Although we tend to handle ours a alot sooner. Make sure your husbandry is on point. With these guys it’s everything. As said a roaming bp is normally a stressed one. If you got a big cage. Clutter it up. Obviously get a couple of hides, heat source with a thermostat. As long as that’s on point it will be fine. Do your homework. It also needs a cool side.
