I would think it would be better to scale back a little as you suggested. We had a bp that was a little chunky when we got her. It was being fed twice a week we scaled her back and she gradually lost little by little over time. Just scale back and watch your snake. I wouldn’t stop offering a bp food all together. 14 would be the max I would wait at that age.
