BP laying upside down
So, my breeding female had her pre-lay shed 8 days ago and is now laying upside down. I know this helps the eggs develop correctly. How long after they start doing this will they lay eggs?

Re: BP laying upside down
They typically lay eggs starting at 27 days from pre-lay shed. Their is no exact number. I have had girls lay right on day 27, and then I had a girl who went through a second pre-lay shed and ended up laying 46 days after the first. Start checking daily at day 27 and good luck.

Not how you calculate your countdown to eggs, her position is irrelevant when it comes to that.
Your time line start with ovulation, than it's about 45 days till eggs (on average)

I know that the countdowns really from ovulation or prelay shed. I was just wondering if laying that way was a telltale sign that she was close. I’ve heard many breeders mention it before, but I’m just not sure what they said. Thank you for the help!

Some female will start doing this before even having their pre-lay, right after their ovy for some, others will do it much toward the end during the last week, which is why you cannot count it as a way to know if she is closer, obviously if she had a pre-lay 8 days ago she is still 19 days away from eggs as a minimum.
