    BP Drooling?? RI???

My ball python is 5 months old and eating and shedding consistently, her cold side temp is at 78-80 and her warm side is 88-90, her humidity is around 55. I was handling her and there was a single bead of saliva on the tip of her mouth. It had a gooey consistency and I didn’t handle her with wet hands or anything. I checked her breathing and couldn’t hear anything at all. A lot of vets near me are closed and I’m so scared, some people say they can regurgitate water if you handle them right after they drink, but I want to take full precaution in case it’s an RI. Please tell me what I should do!!!

Also I haven’t handled any snake other than her for the past month, she is also my only snake.

Most likely your snake took a drink...especially if you aren't seeing bubbles in & around the mouth or open-mouth breathing, & you aren't hearing crackling or whistling
sounds when held close to you. And yes, snakes handled right after drinking can drool some out, especially if you don't hold their head above their body.

My advice: calm down, stay vigilant but optimistic that it's a false alarm.

Normally, they don't eat when or if they have RI.
