    Rats n mice advice

So last Thursday I gave my girl her first rat I defrosted it with a mouse and rubbed the rat with the mouse she smashed it no problem (she is an awesome feeder great response to food). so now do is the same again next feed or do I just defrost rat on it’s own?
Also if I do defrost the rat with the mouse can I give her the mouse after the rat as she would take it.

Also so would you recommend offering her a mouse time to time to give her abit of a change and to try to keep her from being too fussy in the future, i have read they can go on feeding strike and be quite stressful I don’t want this if I can help. I know certain times of the year some do go off feeding.

I’m certainly no expert but my thinking is in the wild they don’t get fed the same size rat at the same time on the same day I just thought mix it up a little feed her different pray time to time,at different time change the day on occasions. just my thoughts. What experience have some of you had l.
    Cheers guys stay cool 😎

Try an unscented rat. If she doesn't take it, rub it with the mouse again. You do this until she will eat a unscented rat regularly. And Do Not go back to mice ever, because if she has options, then she will hold out until she gets the mouse time and time again.

I agree with scenting for a couple of feedings until the snake takes her rats unscented. As far as feeding multiple prey types to BPs that can be tricky. I feed all of my snakes a diverse diet but only because all of them will pretty much eat anything I give them. BPs can be a bit more finicky than aome snakes and can develop a preference for one prey type over others. They will also take long food breaks if they don't get what they want. That's a chance you'll have to decide if it's worth taking.

I find with a young BP if they get hungry they'll take a rat, mouse, ASF or peep. Mine eat ASF an the big girls get retired ASF an rats (peeps an kits when I have too many). Feeding varied helps if you can't find the "right" prey.

Read this (it's not the end all but it's the best I've seen):
