Ultratherm UTH Question
The Ultratherm heat pads I got from The Bean Farm have instructions that say you can cover them with 6mm (1/4") Polystyrene Board
For the purpose of directing the heat up thru the tank.
Lowes and Home Depot have no such stuff unless it's a $50.00 roll of the fanfold stuff 50' long.
I have a roll of Reflectix, (the foil bubble insulating stuff) I would think I could cover the heat pads with that. It should serve the same purpose shouldn't it??
As all heat pads are run with a thermostat, and they are on metal racks like this https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcos...and-40-gallons so it is vented and not a solid surface, I don't forsee any over heating problems.
Any thoughts on this? Don't want to burn out a heat pad or crack a tank if I can avoid it.
Thanks for any input.

Ultratherm UTH Question
That worked very well for me on my AP cages.
The only thing was that extra thickness makes the cage sit lopsided and wobble. That’s why I added the cushions on the other 3 corners for leveling. Seen in last pic.
Ultratherm held down with foil tape. ^^
Add insulation bubbles vvv
Good and sticky ^&
Add cushions ^^

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Thanks for the input....
Covered the whole bottom of the tanks, heat pad and all with reflectix. Temperatures didn't go up at all like I thought they would
They stayed stable, but the thermostat didn't cycle nearly as much as before. so that works much better.
