If done correctly I highly doubt any enclosure is the cause RI or snake mites. A bio active tank can be set up to provide the proper temperatures and humidity to keep respiratory infections minimal. Snake mites need to be introduced to your enclosures from an already infested source. A bio active, at it’s most basic, is a soil type substrate and an invert clean up crew of spring tails and isopods. You still control the temps, humidity, and whether your snake has mites. All sorts of things may end up in your tank, but they must be introduced from an outside source. You may end up with soil or plant mites, but unless you have snake mites in your home already, they won’t make it into your bio active tank.
