You're lucky this was a corn snake bite, lol. I have (in the past) fed a few (very calm or young) snakes by hand, but only for a while. As they grow, both their appetite & speed do increase, and it's "asking for it"
mostly because your scent now makes them think of food, and you do NOT want snakes to associate your scent with prey...not if you want a pet you can handle without bites. Feeding by hand is cute, but best
not done.That's another reason feeding tongs are a good idea...because they put some distance between you (your scent) & the food.
