Snake lunges at glass and his nose is bruised

Hey everyone, I just noticed this and I am a little stressed right now. My 3 year old BP has been randomly hissing in his tank for no reason. I didn’t really think much of it until I noticed his nose is bruised and red! I am assuming he is lunging at the glass but I have no idea why. The glass isn’t warm or anything and none of my other guys do this. There shouldn’t be anything outside of the tank that will cause him to do this. Really concerned about him please help if you can!

Yes that’s one in the cold side and I have a much larger one of the other side with a heat pad.

Those logs arent very good hides, because the ends are open and ball pythons like to hide in termite mounds which are dark tight spaces.. maybe he isnt feeling secure in his large hide and a log...

Ok I’ve been wanting to replace that one but haven’t gotten to it. The other one has one small opening and is dark. Could one hide being open like that want him to jump at the glass though?

I know I have a medium cave and small cave and in both caves he likes to have his sides touching the cave, makes him feel more secure

Its hard to say the exact reason, but that is a possibility.. usually that reaction is caused by something in the husbandry he isnt comfortable with

Humidity not right, hides not right, temps not right.. normally its one of those things

Also looks like he is shedding.. make sure your humidity is higher than normal.. like 70% maybe he is trying to rub his shed off and having issues...

If hes lunging at the glass, he may also be being defensive and seeing reflections in the glass
