    Yay for happy endings!!

I work in hospice and heard a story that happened on one of our palliative care units (like a hospital but smaller). A patient had recently passed away in the room, and the staff had cleaned the room and left the balcony doors open to air it out. They went back in and found a Great Horned Owl perched on the foot of the bed! They tried to get it to move with a broom but apparently it didn't want to leave yet. It opened its wings and hissed at them. They backed off, closed the door the hallway, and let it be. They checked later and it had gone.
