Feral & free-roaming cats are even worse for our native wildlife ALL across the country, yet they don't think about rounding them up & euth'ing.I would.
No, I'm not a cat-hater...but they're not native predators, they carry parasites, diseases, & are reproducing like crazy...as in "pests" not "pets". Our wildlife already
has a tough time surviving without the damn cats killing them for mostly "sport". It's not cute & it's not acceptable. Many bird species have or are disappearing, &
who knows about reptiles? They're not exactly most people's concern for scientific study.
I'm sad for the snakes being removed, but there just isn't that many "good homes" that could and WOULD keep them securely. I DO care about their negative impact
on the local wildlife- the presence of these pythons does interfere with the balance of native species, both predators & prey...there's only so much space, & non-native
species can also introduce new diseases to the area that impact the native herps.
