    I think this may be the first time I've seen pictures of what SFD does to the snake. Scary stuff.

    The picture in the article is a really bad, advanced case of it. The article also has a link to the CDFG's official press release at https://cdfgnews.wordpress.com/2019/...in-california/

    I really hope the last sentence of the first paragraph of the official press release doesn't mean that someone received a snake w/ SFD from FL, where it was subsequently turned loose rather than taking it to a vet for treatment or putting it down when it turned out to be sick.
